Aluminum foil is a hot stamping material that is directly rolled into thin sheets from metallic aluminum. It has a hot stamping effect similar to that of pure silver foil, so it is also called fake silver foil.

On June 3, 2024, the European Union announced the initiation of an expiry review of the anti-dumping measures on certain aluminum foil in rolls originating in China in order to respond to applications submitted by ALEURO Converting Sp. z.o.o., CeDo Sp. z.o.o. and ITS B.V on March 4, 2024.

The product under review is the aluminum foil of a thickness of 0.007 mm or more but less than 0.021 mm, not backed, not further worked than rolled, whether or not embossed, in low-weight rolls of a weight not exceeding 10 kg, and fall under CN codes ex 7607 11 11 and ex 7607 19 10 (TARIC codes 7607111111, 7607111119, 7607191011 and 7607191019).

The review investigation period will cover from January 1 2023 to December 31 2023. The examination of trends relevant for the assessment of the likelihood of a recurrence of injury will cover the period from January 1 2020 to the end of the review investigation period.

1. Characteristics of aluminum foil:

It is soft, malleable and easy to process and shape.

It has a silvery white luster and is easy to process into beautiful patterns and patterns of various colors.

It has the advantages of moisture-proof, air-tight, light-shielding, abrasion resistance, fragrance retention, non-toxic and odorless, etc.

2. Application fields of aluminum foil:

Packaging materials: Aluminum foil is widely used in the packaging of food, beverages, cigarettes, medicines, etc.

Because of its excellent moisture-proof, air-tight and aroma-preserving properties, it can effectively protect the packaged items.

In addition, after aluminum foil is combined with plastic and paper, it can further improve the shielding performance against water vapor, air, ultraviolet rays and bacteria, greatly broadening the application market of aluminum foil.

Electrolytic capacitor material: Aluminum foil can be used in the production of electrolytic capacitors.

Thermal insulation materials: Aluminum foil can be used as thermal insulation materials in the fields of buildings, vehicles, ships, houses, etc.

Other fields: Aluminum foil can also be used as decorative gold and silver threads, wallpapers, various stationery prints and decorative trademarks for light industrial products.

Classification of aluminum foil:

According to thickness differences, aluminum foil can be divided into thick foil, single zero foil and double zero foil.

The thickness of thick foil is 0.1~0.2mm; the thickness of single zero foil is 0.01mm to less than 0.1mm;

The thickness of double zero foil is usually less than 0.01mm, that is, 0.005~0.009mm aluminum foil
