Galvanized steel sheet coil, also known as galvanized coil, is a steel material with a zinc layer on the surface. It is based on the steel coil, and the zinc layer is evenly covered on the surface of the steel coil through the galvanizing process to achieve the purpose of rust and corrosion prevention.

Galvanized steel sheet coil is light, beautiful, has good corrosion resistance, and can be directly processed, so it has been widely used in many fields.

In response to an application submitted by Pakistani producers International Steels Limited and Aisha Steel Mills Limited (ASML) on June 28, 2024, the National Tariff Commission of Pakistan launched an anti-circumvention investigation on galvanized steel sheet coils with a thickness from 0.15 mm to 2.75 mm and a width of 600mm or more imported from China.

The investigation examines whether Chinese exporters/producers circumvent anti-dumping duties imposed on galvanized steel sheet coils by slightly modifying the products through hot-dip galvanization with zinc and aluminum as the main coating elements, with or without other metals in small proportions.

The product under investigation (galvalume steel coils/sheets) has only been slightly modified without changing its essential characteristics, and its use is the same as the product subject to anti-dumping duties (galvanized steel coils/sheets).

The product involved is classified under Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT) headings 7210.6110, 7210.6190, 7210.6910, and 7210.6990.

The period of the anti-circumvention investigation is from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2024.

The conclusion was scheduled to be released within nine months from the date of this notice publication.
